Some software DVD decoders, like and PowerDVD, have optional 4 speaker support for some audio chipsets, but since Dolby requires royalty fees the option is often turned off. If you think that your version has the proper supprot then check out the following: 4 channel and 6 channel audio support requires specific audio hardware and are also optional. Your card either does not have 4 speaker support, it is disabled, or turned off in its software. Use your sound card’s audio utility to verify if you have your system setup for quad speakers (most sound cards will default the (second audio out setup for headphones). The title you are playing does not have either Dolby digital (5.1) or Dolby Prologic surround sound.
